Vintage Characteristics » A rainy and cold spring caused a late budbreak and a slow start to growth. The rainy, cold conditions continued until well into the summer. Fromm id-July on the weather improved significantly, but the vines were nos able to catch up which meant that a late harvest was the only way to allow the grapes to reach the level of ropeness needed to produce wines with quality color and structure.
Vinification » After harvesting the grapes, each variety was fermented separately at 26*28ºC during 10 days, until alcoholic and malolactic fermentation were completed. The wine was then aged in oak barrels, after which it was filtered, stabilized and bottled.
Ageing » A mínimum of 12 months in American oak barrels.
Grape varieties » 42% Tempranillo, 13% Garnacha, 20% Merlot, 25% Cabernet Sauvignon.
Alcohol» 13% Vol.
Colour » Cherry red, bright, with a médium-high intensity.
Nose » Intense and expressive, with notes of black fruits and hints of toast.
Palate » Smooth and fresh, appealing mouthfeel with a long, pleasant finish.
Pairing » It is ideal match for stews, all kinds of meat and cheese.
